Manufacturing sales of $71.5B in October edged out preliminary estimates, but still fell 1% M/M - with chemicals (down 6%) and wood products (down 9%) weighing on results.

That weakness drove the first inventory draw in six months, as lumber curtailments resulted in a 3% drop in wood product inventories…

… and capacity utilization, which was strong overall - reinforcing Q3’s solid numbers.
